Not every role in a fast-moving DTC brand is about writing scripts or running ad accounts. Some of the most important work happens in between, making sure what gets produced is actually ready to go live.

A fast-growing UK-based DTC wellness brand is looking for someone who will own the final quality check on every video ad before it ships. The brand produces mini-VSLs, typically three to four minutes long, and every single one needs a sharp eye on it before it goes anywhere near an audience. Captions, B-roll, background music, structure, rendering, spelling. Nothing gets through that isn't right.

It's a detailed, focused role and it's honest about that. This isn't a creative director seat. But if you genuinely want to understand what makes direct-response video ads work and grow into writing and strategy over time, this is a real path into that world. You'll spend every day watching winning and losing ads up close, and that pattern recognition compounds fast.

WHO THEY ARE

A founder-led UK collagen supplement brand built around a product the founder created for his own mother after years of buying overpriced, low-quality alternatives that didn't deliver. The product works, the customer base keeps growing, and the brand has built real momentum in the UK market since launching in early 2024. A US expansion is now underway.

The business runs on performance marketing and high-volume video creative. Mini-VSLs are the core format, and producing them well at scale is central to how the brand grows. The team is lean and moves fast, with the founder closely involved across creative, and a culture that rewards people who take ownership, learn quickly, and hold themselves to a high standard. This isn't a 9-to-5 environment, it's a brand that's building something and needs people who want to be part of that.

The people who do well here are detail-oriented, curious about what makes ads actually work, and honest enough to flag something that isn't right even when it would be easier to wave it through.

This is a fully remote, full-time contractor role.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • A front-row seat to what makes DTC video ads win: You'll review every ad before it goes live, building pattern recognition for winning creative faster than most people in the industry ever do.
  • A genuine path into creative strategy: The role is designed for someone who wants to grow. Learn the formats, understand what's working in the account, and the door to writing your own scripts opens over time.
  • Direct involvement from the founder during onboarding: The first week involves going through winning ads together with Alex, understanding the reasoning behind every creative decision, and learning the standard from the person who set it.
  • A simple, clean workflow: Frame.io for video review, Notion for task management. No bloated tech stack, no unnecessary complexity.
  • Early entry into a fast-growing brand: The team is still lean and the brand is scaling quickly, which means the people who join now grow with it.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO

This role is focused on being the final quality gate for every video ad the brand produces before it goes live.

You will:

  • Review mini-VSLs of three to four minutes in length, typically covering 12 to 15 minutes of video content per day across two to three ads.
  • Check every caption frame for accuracy, formatting, and spelling, nothing gets through with an error.
  • Review B-roll shots for relevance, quality, and whether they match the script and tone.
  • Flag issues with background music, rendering, structural elements, and anything else that isn't right before the ad goes to the editor for revision.
  • Leave clear, specific feedback on Frame.io so editors know exactly what to fix without back-and-forth.
  • Track tasks and revisions through Notion, keeping the workflow moving without things falling through the cracks.
  • Build a working understanding of what makes ads convert, informed by the winning ad library and any performance context shared by the team.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have some background in DTC or ecommerce, whether from a brand, agency, or content role, because the longer-form video formats this brand produces won't feel familiar without it.
  • You have a sharp eye for detail and genuinely care when something is slightly off, whether it's a caption that doesn't quite sync or a B-roll shot that doesn't fit the moment.
  • You can watch the same type of content repeatedly and bring the same level of attention to the tenth review of the day as the first.
  • You understand, or are hungry to learn, what makes direct-response video ads work at a structural level, not just whether something looks good.
  • You communicate feedback clearly and specifically, so editors can act on it without needing clarification.
  • You're comfortable working remotely and independently, managing your own queue without someone checking in on every task.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience as a UGC coordinator or content coordinator, especially from a TikTok or social-first agency where reviewing video content was part of the daily workflow.
  • A background as a video editor who wants to move into the strategy and quality side of creative.
  • Experience as a content creator yourself, particularly in short or long form video formats.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • 30 Days: You've been through the winning ad library with the founder, you understand the brand's creative standards, and you're independently reviewing and leaving clear feedback on two to three ads per day.
  • 60 Days: Your reviews are consistent, accurate, and fast. Editors are getting clear direction without needing follow-up questions, and the revision loop is running smoothly.
  • 90 Days: You're a reliable final gate for everything that ships, the quality bar is holding, and you're starting to develop your own sense of what angles and formats are performing and why.
