YOUR MISSION

As the Retention Lead, your mission is to maximize Customer Lifetime Value and reduce subscription churn. You will be the architect and executor of the brand’s retention ecosystem, overseeing everything from high-converting direct-response copy to advanced automated messaging sequences. You won’t just be managing what already exists; you will be building the systems and data-driven strategies that ensure customers stay longer and spend more.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO

  • Own end-to-end lifecycle performance across email, SMS, and subscriptions, with clear accountability for repeat purchase rate, LTV, churn, and retention-driven revenue.
  • Audit, build, and A/B test sophisticated Klaviyo email flows to ensure every customer touchpoint is optimized for maximum engagement and revenue.
  • Dive deep into Loop and subscription data to identify churn triggers, cancellation patterns, and behavioral drop-offs, and implement strategies that keep subscribers active longer.
  • Build, test, and refine advanced segmentation and personalization strategies using zero-party, first-party, and behavioral data to increase relevance at scale.
  • Conduct deep retention and cohort analyses to identify buying trends, repeat behavior, and lifecycle opportunities, continuously iterating on the retention roadmap for maximum ROI.
  • Partner closely with Paid Media and Creatives teams to align offers, messaging, and timing across the full customer journey.


WHO YOU ARE

  • You bring 3–5 years of proven experience in retention marketing, specifically within high-growth DTC brands.
  • You are a data-native and an expert in Klaviyo, possessing the technical skills to navigate subscription platforms like Loop with ease.
  • You are a high-level communicator with a complete command of the English language, enabling you to represent the brand's voice perfectly.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, lean environments and are motivated by seeing the direct impact of your work.
  • You combine the ability to think strategically about a long-term roadmap with a deep understanding of direct-response psychology.


WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • 30 Days: You have audited all Klaviyo flows, established a churn baseline, and presented a 90-day optimization roadmap.
  • 60 Days: You are running active A/B tests and have implemented automated sequences that show a measurable stabilization in churn.
  • 90 Days: You have built a robust retention engine with clear cohort reports proving a tangible increase in Customer Lifetime Value.


RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • Step 1: Initial screen to review your retention experience and overall fit.
  • Step 2: Deep-dive interview focused on your approach to email, SMS, and lifecycle strategy.
  • Step 3: Practical audit task to see how you review, diagnose, and improve an existing retention setup.
  • Step 4: Final interview with the leadership team.
