Creative Strategist (Health and Wellness Brand)
Apply for this job

You open the ad account. Something's working, a hook, a demographic, a format. You know exactly what that means and what to do next. You're already writing the angle in your head before the data finishes loading.

That instinct is exactly what this role is built around. A fast-scaling DTC portfolio needs someone to sit at the intersection of performance data and creative output and make sense of it all. The founder has been doing it himself. The business has grown to nearly 100 people and eight figures in revenue doing it that way. Now the role needs its own person.

WHO THEY ARE

The brand is a DTC health and wellness company built around a single hero product: a topical magnesium cream developed for people dealing with nerve pain, neuropathy, and joint discomfort. It has been used by tens of thousands of customers across the US, Canada, Australia, and Singapore - mostly older adults who have tried everything else and finally found something that works.

On the media side, Meta is a big growth engine, with YouTube, Native, AppLovin and Google rounding out a multi-channel acquisition stack. Creative throughput is high - the team runs a large video production operation and is constantly testing new angles, hooks, and formats across all channels.

The team is lean, the decisions are fast, and the people who perform here are the ones who don't need much managing. It's the kind of place where you can suggest something on Monday and test it by Wednesday - no committee, no approval process, just a founder who knows how to trust experts.

This is a fully remote, full-time contractor role.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Impact from day one: The founder is currently doing this job himself;  you're not filling a seat, you're taking over a function.
  • Fast-track growth: Perform and you'll be building your own sub-department, hiring your own team.
  • Training investment: Mentors and courses funded by the company to develop your craft.
  • Full remote: Work from anywhere, no mandatory timezone.
  • Autonomy: Prove results and creative direction is fully yours to run.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO

  • Analyze ad performance daily across AppLovin, Meta, and YouTube to always know what to kill, what to scale, and what to test next.
  • When a pattern shows up in the data, build a testing roadmap around it before the edge disappears.
  • Script fast ideas yourself so nothing waits in a queue.
  • Brief copywriters on bigger concepts: long VSLs, multi-step funnels, full ad sequences.
  • Keep 35 video editors pointed in the right direction without reviewing every asset.
  • Understand what's currently working - AI-driven ads, static-to-VSL flows, short-form leading into long-form and build the next wave of testing around it.
  • Own the feedback loop between media buyers and creative so learnings translate directly into production.
  • Proactively propose new angles, formats, and VSL structures so the brand is never just iterating on what already worked.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have experience in creative strategy or performance creative for DTC or direct-response brands.
  • You've contributed to winning ads with at least $100K in spend behind them.
  • You've worked with brands doing at least $2M/month in revenue and you know what that scale feels like.
  • You have a strong grasp of direct-response: hooks, angles, funnel structure, and audience psychology.
  • You're comfortable writing scripts without needing a copywriter for every idea.
  • You think in patterns, not one-offs;  you see a winning angle and build a system around it.
  • You've worked with long-form VSLs, 6 to 40 minutes, not just 60-second clips.
  • You move fast and take ownership without waiting to be told what to test next.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • 30 days: You've mapped the full creative operation, what's live, what's winning, what the media buyers are seeing. You have a clear point of view on where the gaps are. Ideally, you've already contributed to a winner.
  • 60 days: You're running the creative feedback loop independently. Insights flow into briefs and scripts without the founder in the middle. You have a testing rhythm and a backlog of concepts in production.
  • 90 days: Creative direction is yours. You own the testing roadmap, you're shipping concepts at volume, and the results are visible in the numbers.
