Apply for this job

This Ecommerce Manager role sits at the center of a heritage home décor brand that has already reached $8.5M+ on Amazon and is now focused on building a serious DTC engine. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll operate as a true second-in-command, connecting digital growth with on-the-ground operations and ensuring both sides move in sync.

Your core responsibility is to take full ownership of the Shopify storefront and turn it into a meaningful revenue driver, scaling it from 2.5% to 20–30% of total revenue within your first year. In a lean, high-impact environment, you’ll lead external partners, optimize performance across channels, and evolve the tech stack to create a scalable, self-sustaining DTC ecosystem.

WHO THEY ARE

This heritage brand is rooted in craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design. Originally a wholesale manufacturer for high-end U.S. retailers, the company evolved into a digital-first brand with strong unit economics. While Amazon currently accounts for 85% of their revenue, they are expanding their reach across Shopify and big-box marketplaces like Wayfair, Home Depot, and Lowe’s.

The culture is built around a few clear principles:

  • Ownership: A team of self-driven individuals who take full responsibility for their work and consistently raise the bar.
  • Transparency: Open, direct communication paired with thoughtful, constructive challenge.
  • Optimization: A fast-moving, data-led environment where decisions are grounded in performance and a proactive mindset is expected.

This is a fully remote, full-time contractor-to-hire role.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Impact & Ownership: Own the entire digital operation and play a central role in shaping the company’s trajectory toward mid-eight-figure revenue.
  • Growth Opportunities: This role is designed to progress into a Chief of Staff or COO-type position as the company’s headcount and revenue grow.
  • Performance Rewards: Access to revenue-tied performance bonuses based on KPIs you directly impact, gated by a contribution margin modifier.
  • Flexible Remote Culture: Work fully remotely while staying integrated with the PST work schedule to sync with physical infrastructure.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO

  • Take full ownership of the Shopify storefront and lead its growth from 2.5% to 20–30% of total revenue within 12 months - setting the strategy, managing the execution, and making sure every lever is being pulled.
  • Oversee CRO, email/retention, and paid social performance across Shopify - managing external agencies and contractors doing the work, evaluating their output critically, and holding them accountable to results.
  • Maintain visibility across Amazon, Wayfair, Home Depot, and Lowe's channel health - ensuring existing team members and processes are performing to standard, flagging issues, and providing strategic input to the CEO where needed.
  • Lead the strategic expansion into new sales channels - identifying the right opportunities, building the business case, and owning the rollout end to end.
  • Own key performance thresholds and budget decisions across ad spend and inventory - monitoring ACOS/TACOS, contribution margins, and stock levels to make data-driven calls.
  • Identify, implement, and manage a high-performance suite of ecommerce apps and AI tools to eliminate manual inefficiencies and automate data reporting across channels.
  • Build and maintain weekly performance dashboards that translate complex channel metrics into clear, actionable growth strategies for the CEO.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 5+ years of DTC ecommerce experience, with a proven track record of scaling brands from high seven figures to mid-eight figure revenues.
  • You are highly proficient in both Shopify (theme customization, app integrations) and Amazon Seller/Vendor Central (FBA, SEO, A+ content).
  • You possess a high level of data fluency, comfortable using Google Analytics and Shopify reporting to translate metrics into actionable growth initiatives.
  • You have experience managing teams or external contractors and are comfortable challenging assumptions to find the most efficient path forward
  • You are proficient in Google Suite and WMS software, and you're comfortable leveraging AI tools to solve complex operational issues.
  • You thrive in lean, fast-paced environments where speed and adaptability are essential.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working with home improvement or home decor brands.
  • Familiarity with supply chain coordination or inventory planning.
  • Experience in managing and scaling brands generating $10M+ in annual revenue is essential.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • Intro Chat: Initial call to align on your background and the brand’s needs.
  • Deep-Dive Interview: A session with the CEO focused on Shopify/Amazon scaling experience and problem-solving approach.
  • Practical Task: Live exercise to demonstrate how you think, prioritize growth, and interpret ecommerce data in real time.
  • Final Call: Review of the task, discuss compensation, and align on next steps and long-term fit.
