Retention Strategist

We are looking for a Retention Strategist who is a "savage" in the spreadsheets and a leader in client meetings. You aren't here to build segments; you’re here to build machines. You’ll take over the most sophisticated, high-touch accounts, clients who know their numbers and expect you to know them better.


YOUR MISSION

Your mission is to own the strategic roadmap for 5–8 of their largest accounts. You aren't the person "doing the doing", you are the architect. You define the testing frameworks, craft the briefs, and direct the copy, design, and tech teams to execute. You ensure that for every client, retention isn't just a channel, it’s the strategy that drives their 30-60-90 day CM LTV.

They own the entire stack: Email, SMS, Loyalty, and Subscriptions, because they know retention is a holistic strategy, not a siloed task. Their culture is high-performance, ownership-driven, and no-bullshit. It’s a place for people who hate sloppiness and measure themselves by what they deliver, not what they attempt.

This is a fully remote position supporting a team on US time zones.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO

  • Crafting deep-retention strategies that move the needle on 30-60-90 day CM LTV.
  • Moving beyond subject lines to build frameworks with clear observations, hypotheses, and recommendations.
  • Leading high-stakes monthly calls and daily check-ins (at clock-on and clock-off) to ensure every strategic question is answered.
  • Analyzing cohorts and repurchase rates via Lifetimely, Triple Whale, and Peel Insights to find the "hidden" revenue.
  • Utilizing Claude Projects and automations to optimize your workflow and client deliverables.


WHO YOU ARE

  • The Experience: 3+ years of elite Klaviyo experience. You must have managed brands doing $1M+ monthly revenue.
  • The Background: You’ve been in the trenches at a high-growth DTC brand or a top-tier agency.
  • The Strategic Mind: You understand that email marketing doesn't drive sales (traffic does) and that an email’s effectiveness depends on the offer more than the subject line.
  • The Analytical Edge: You analyze data for insights, not screenshots. You speak the language of first-order value, repurchase rates, and holdout testing.
  • AI Proficient: You are a power user of Claude/ChatGPT. You know how to use AI to get faster, more efficient, and produce better work.


BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Expertise in Claude Code or building custom GPT/Claude automations.
  • Deep experience with Recharge, Rebuy, or Wonderment.


DEAL BREAKERS

  • You don't have experience in e-commerce or email/retention marketing
  • You dislike client-facing roles or struggle with relationship management
  • You feel like project management gives you a headache, and you can’t keep up with schedules
  • You aren't data-driven and analytical in your approach
  • You're above getting your hands dirty on execution
