This is not a role for someone waiting for frame-by-frame direction. You’ll be trusted to take a creative brief, interpret it independently, and turn it into high-performing paid social creative across Meta and TikTok.
You’re expected to think like an editor and an operator: selecting the right footage, making strong pacing decisions, identifying what visually holds attention, and shipping variations fast enough to support aggressive testing cycles.
The creative strategists will define the concept, messaging, and structure - but you’re the person responsible for bringing it to life through strong editorial judgment, platform-native instincts, and fast execution.

This is a full-time, fully remote contractor role.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO
This role is centered around producing and improving high-performing paid social creative at volume.
You will:
- Edit direct response video ads (15–60 seconds) for Meta and TikTok using UGC, testimonials, product demos, B-roll and creator footage.
- Independently interpret creative briefs and select the strongest footage for each scene from asset libraries
- Create platform-native ads optimized for Reels, TikTok feeds, and paid social placements.
- Apply direct-response editing principles including:
- strong hooks
- pacing and retention management
- benefit stacking
- social proof sequencing
- CTA placement
- post-hook engagement flow
- Produce multiple creative variations for testing (hooks, pacing, angles, CTAs, etc.)
- Turn revisions around quickly and incorporate feedback without friction
- Use AI tools like ElevenLabs, AI captioning workflows, and other emerging production tools to improve output speed and quality
- Source music, sound effects, overlays, and supporting assets that improve engagement and conversion
- Organize and manage assets across multiple brands and concurrent projects
- Deliver clean exports optimized for Meta, TikTok, and Shorts placements
WHO YOU ARE
You have 3+ years of experience editing direct-response or paid social video ads for platforms like Meta, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts.
More importantly, you understand how editing decisions influence performance.
You:
- Can take a creative brief and independently turn it into a polished, high-performing ad without needing every shot pre-selected
- Understand direct-response structure and how hooks, pacing, visuals, and sequencing affect retention and conversion
- Have strong instincts for Reels/TikTok-native editing styles and understand how modern paid social content should feel
- Are highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects is a strong plus)
- Are comfortable using AI tools like ElevenLabs and AI-assisted editing workflows
- Can consistently produce 12–15 video concepts per week without sacrificing quality
- Are comfortable working across multiple brands with very different aesthetics and audiences
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in remote environments using tools like Slack, Google Drive, and Asana
- Take feedback professionally and move quickly without ego
