Head of Retention

Our client is a multi-brand DTC incubator operating across the US, Asia, and Europe. They build, acquire, and scale consumer brands in beauty, wellness, health, lifestyle and personal care, with several brands already at 8-9 figures in annual revenue.


They are looking for a data-driven, aggressive, and highly "hands-on" Head of Retention to own the post-purchase experience and scale their subscription ecosystem to the next level.


THE ROLE

As the Head of Retention, you will be the "owner" of the customer lifecycle. Your primary mission is to bridge the gap between subscription data and marketing execution, reduce churn, and maximize LTV across their portfolio. You won’t just manage; you will "figure it out," vet their agencies, and optimize the technical integrations between their tech stack components.


This is a fully remote position.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement comprehensive retention strategies to boost customer loyalty and lifetime value.
  • Own the Loop Subscriptions platform, including technical integration with Klaviyo and managing the developer brief process for custom executions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and quality control for email, SMS, and post-purchase agencies (e.g., Simply).
  • Deep dive into cohort projections and customer behavior data to identify engagement trends and opportunities.
  • Manage and optimize email marketing campaigns, including advanced segmentation, personalization, and rigorous A/B testing.
  • Build and launch a brand-new loyalty and referral program from the ground up.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Performance, Head of Creative, and Head of Operations to ensure a cohesive customer experience.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You have handled retention for brands at the 8-figure or 9-figure scale and know how to manage volume without breaking systems.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Shopify, Klaviyo, Loop, and SMS platforms. Familiarity with Checkout Champ is a significant bonus.
  • You don’t wait for a brief. You are aggressive, willing to test (and break) things, and take full accountability for churn and MRR volume.
  • Ability to talk to developers and bridge the gap between marketing ideas and technical execution.
  • We value experience from either background, provided you have had real "hands-on" responsibility.

  2. Technical Assessment: An online test to demonstrate your retention expertise and how you approach retention strategy. 
  3. Final Interview: An interview with the head of marketing.
