Our client has mastered the art of high-volume acquisition. They are pumping massive traffic into the anti-aging DTC space and are already pacing past 8 figures. But at this level, "good" conversion rates are just missed opportunities.

They don’t need a consultant or a generalist. They need a technical CRO powerhouse - a conversion architect who can get under the hood of a complex funnel, manage a team of developers, and ensure the machine runs without friction. If you can architect high-converting quiz journeys, optimize sophisticated checkout backends, and troubleshoot complex tracking containers without breaking a sweat, this is your arena.


YOUR MISSION

As the CRO Manager, you are the lead architect of the user journey. Your mission is to take full ownership of the technical performance and optimization of the entire funnel - from the first landing page load to the final post-purchase checkout flow. You will lead a dedicated team of designers and developers to turn complex hypotheses into functional, high-margin reality, ensuring every test is technically flawless, lightning-fast, and perfectly tracked.


This is a full-time, remote contractor role.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO

  •  Own the end-to-end technical implementation and experimentation strategy for acquisition and retention funnels.
  • Lead the build and optimization of long-form sales pages, advertorials, and complex, multi-step quiz journeys.
  • Deep-dive into checkout architecture to build high-converting upsell flows and subscription funnels that skyrocket AOV.
  • Direct a specialized dev team across Shopify and custom landing page platforms to ensure pixel-perfect, high-speed execution.
  • Act as the final line of defense for technical errors, speed optimization, and tracking discrepancies (GA4/GTM) that others miss.
  • Own CRO experimentation infrastructure, QA processes, and release workflows to enable rapid, low-risk testing at scale.
  • Ensure tracking, attribution, and event integrity across the full funnel, including server-side tracking and conversion APIs.
  • Optimize site performance and Core Web Vitals across all CRO-driven assets without compromising conversion impact.
  • Translate CRO strategy into clear technical requirements for developers, designers, and external partners.


WHO YOU ARE

  • You have deep experience in the Shopify ecosystem, specifically with Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript.
  • You have a proven track record of optimizing complex checkout backends, upsell logic, and technical offer sequencing.
  • You are highly proficient in building, segmenting, and maintaining interactive quiz journeys that integrate seamlessly with the broader stack.
  • You can confidently talk shop with developers, manage Git/GitHub workflows, and enforce clean, documented, scalable code standards.
  • You have a strong “technical first-aid” mindset and can debug tracking issues, site errors, and broken flows under high-traffic conditions.
  • You have hands-on experience with GA4, GTM, and event-based tracking architectures across acquisition and post-purchase flows.
  • You have set-up high-stakes CRO experiments in live environments with real revenue impact, not just low-risk UI tests.
  • You are comfortable owning technical CRO decisions end-to-end, from scoping and build to QA, launch, and post-test analysis.
  • You thrive in fast-moving, high-accountability environments where execution quality matters more than perfect specs.


BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience with Checkout Champ, Replo, or Heyflow.
  • Professional experience in the Beauty, Skincare, or Wellness DTC space.
  • A background in scaling 8-9 figure brands with a heavy focus on site speed and performance.
